New Trans Legal Professionals Networking Program Launched to Strengthen Community and Support for Trans and Nonbinary Legal Professionals

April 22, 2025 – Today marks the official launch of the Trans Legal Professionals Networking Program, a vital new initiative aimed at fostering community support and enhancing visibility for trans and nonbinary professionals in the legal field. The program, led by openly trans attorney, coach, and consultant Dru Levasseur of Dru Levasseur Consulting, LLC, in collaboration with the National Trans Bar Association, offers a much-needed platform for trans and nonbinary legal professionals to connect, network, and receive support.

“In this moment of rampant anti-trans and anti-DEI sentiment when many of our natural allies are heading for the hills, there is a need for strong trans-led community engagement,” said Dru Levasseur. “This networking program will be a space where participants can network, offer peer support, and continue to thrive in their legal careers. It's an opportunity to foster connection and amplify the voices of those often marginalized in our profession.”

“Having received Dru’s support after I came out as the first openly non-binary Big Law partner, I am honored to fully support and personally collaborate with Dru in these efforts that are so essential to professionals in our community,” said Rafael Langer-Osuna, board member of the National Trans Bar Association. “Mentorship and community connection are vital right now for trans and nonbinary people.” The program, like the National Trans Bar Association, is open to the entire field of trans legal professionals - law students, lawyers, business professionals, and judges.

Sponsorship of the Trans Legal Professionals Networking Program offers law firms and companies a unique opportunity to invest in the future of the legal profession by supporting the entire field of thriving trans legal professionals. The Trans Legal Professionals Networking Program is financially independent from the National Trans Bar Association. As such, sponsorship opportunities, which are available in three tiers, include a range of the below benefits offered by the Trans Legal Professional Networking Program and its staff:

• Annual firmwide or company-wide Pride keynote speech

• Policy audit for best practice recommendations

• Individual or group coaching

• Educational session for recruiters

• Access to global inclusion leadership meetings
